This one-day course is designed for staff that may need to enter confined spaces as part of their work duties. Recommended for staff members or contractors, who are required to have a practical & theoretical understanding of confined spaces legislation.

This unit covers the entering and working in confined spaces in resources and infrastructure industries. It includes planning and preparing for entry of confined spaces, entry and working in confined spaces, exiting confined spaces and cleaning up.

This unit is appropriate for those working in confined spaces (enclosed or partially enclosed) for the purpose of carrying out work or inspections and also is appropriate for those performing sentry or stand-by person roles, at worksites including:

Entry Requirements

Language and literacy skills adequate to communicate with other workers and complete Job Safety Analysis / Permit requirements. Numeracy skills in order to operate gas testing equipment. A level of physical ability is required to undertake the practical assessments, however, allowable adjustments can be made. Please inform BEST administration of any special requirements to assist in completion of training.
