This one day course covers working safely at heights in the work place.  It includes: identifying the work requirements, work procedures and instructions for the task; accessing and installing equipment; performing work at heights; and cleaning up the work area. This unit specifies the competency required to undertake safe working practices when working at heights or depths. This unit is appropriate for those working in operational roles at worksites including:   Manufacturing Civil construction Coal mining Drilling Extractive industries Metalliferous mining Course Overview Guide to Legislation, Regulations and the Standards governing working at height Harnesses and associated equipment Use of different types of height safety equipment Selection of fall protection equipment appropriate to the working environment, Strengths and limitations of equipment, Inspection and maintenance requirements. Choosing and correctly fitting a harness, Simulate working safely at heights Entry Requirements Language and literacy skills adequate to communicate with other workers and complete Job Safety Analysis / Permit requirements. Numeracy skills in order to identify weights and measures associated with equipment.
